  • Yes! We would love to help you achieve the results you are looking for. To schedule a complimentary consultation, please email us at info@cupclinic.ca. At this appointment, we will discuss your needs and what treatment options are best suited for you.

  • It is entirely normal to be nervous. Rest assured, at Cusp, we pride ourselves on creating an environment that is safe and comfortable for you. We adhere to the practice standards set out by our regulatory bodies, and all procedures are carried out with care and extreme attention to health measures. Our main goal is your safety and comfort.

  • After you have booked your appointment, you will be required to fill out the intake forms that will be sent to you. At your office appointment, the registered nurse will go over your intake forms and do an assessment based on your treatment. Your health history and your treatment plan will then be discussed with the medical director to ensure you are safe to proceed with the treatment. You can also ask the medical director any questions during this time.

  • Neuromodulators temporarily relax targeted muscles and can last 3 to 4 months (or more). They can freshen your look by softening the lines on your face, commonly caused by repeated facial expressions.

Neuromodulators are made from highly purified, naturally occurring proteins. They work by relaxing targeted muscles and gradually smoothing wrinkles as the muscle relaxes.

Hyaluronic acid fillers (HA fillers) are temporary gel injectables that last 6-12 months, depending on your body’s unique characteristics. HA fillers comprise a naturally derived sugar called hyaluronic acid, which exists in our bodies.

  • No. When done well and with your uniqueness in mind, neuromodulators can soften fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in a beautifully subtle, more natural, youthful, and fresh appearance.

  • Neuromodulator (anti-wrinkle) injections typically do not hurt. The injection is given with a very small needle. Some people report a stinging sensation but the product itself is not painful.

  • There is no downtime after receiving a neuromodulator treatment. You can return to work or school the same day. However, it is recommended that you do the following after a neuromodulator treatment:

Avoid sleeping on your face the first night.

Do not rub or massage the treated area and avoid make-up, if possible, for 24 hours.

Do not exercise or partake in any strenuous activity for the next 24 hrs.

Avoid excessive alcohol consumption for the next 24hrs.

  • We recommend scheduling your appointment at least one month or more before any significant event. This will allow your injector to make any necessary adjustments to see the full results and for the redness to fade. It will also allow time for the aftereffects of swelling or bruising to heal.

  • In some cases, such as when you are receiving treatment for chronic migraines, TMJ, or hyperhidrosis, your treatment may be covered by your insurance. Before booking your appointment, please check with your insurance provider to see if you are covered for these procedures. Failure to do so may result in your appointment being cancelled and a cancellation fee collected.

OHIP or personal insurance companies do not cover neuromodulators for anti-wrinkle treatments. It is the responsibility of the client to pay these fees.

  • No. No studies to date ethically validate the safety of receiving medical aesthetic treatments while pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • You must be 18 years of age to receive cosmetic injections. In some cases, patients under 18 can receive neuromodulator injections for jaw pain related to TMJ and injections for excessive underarm sweating associated with hyperhidrosis. Still, the patient will require that a legal guardian is present and signs the consent.

For other treatments at Cusp, patients can receive all other treatments if a legal guardian accompanies them and signs the consent.

  • More and more clinics across the country are now offering multiple preventative treatments at their medical aesthetic clinics; knee injections for osteoarthritis are one of them.

At Cusp, our medical director is trained in both orthopedic procedures as well as in medical aesthetics. We are happy to be the only clinic in North Bay offering this new and exciting treatment to North Bay and the surrounding area.

OHIP or personal insurance companies do not cover this procedure.

To learn more about this procedure and see if you are a candidate, please read our website's “Knee Osteoarthritis Treatments” section.

If you would like more information on this treatment, please mail us at info@cuspclinic.ca, and we will be happy to answer any questions you have and send you literature on the product.
