The Story of Cusp…

The Story of Cusp

Hello North Bay!

My name is Meghann Dowding, and I created Cusp Medical Aesthetics. I am a BScN-prepared RN and a trained cosmetic nurse injector. If you’ve made it to this page, you’re likely curious about how Cusp came to be. Please read along, and I’ll share how my dream of running a medical aesthetic practice turned into a reality.

Time For a Change

Having worked in a rewarding but demanding position in acute healthcare for fifteen years, I decided it was time to expand my nursing practice. Having always been interested in medical aesthetics, I enrolled in a Canadian-accredited training program, THMA Consulting Inc. Since February 2022, I have continually been active in furthering my training and education in medical aesthetic procedures.

Everything Begins with an Idea

Like most business ventures, Cusp began as an idea. It was an idea to seek new challenges and personal growth. Still, more importantly, it was a desire to be more autonomous in my career and an opportunity to take on a different leadership role in nursing. It was an opportunity for me to learn more about the fascinating world of medical aesthetics, become a voice, and advocate for other nurses who may be interested in a medical aesthetics career but don’t know where to start.

With the encouragement of my biggest supporter, best friend, and husband, I began to turn my idea of starting a medical aesthetics practice into a reality.

Turning Ideas into Reality

My interest and fascination in the world of medical aesthetics, coupled with my desire to challenge myself and learn new things, encouraged me to enroll in a training program that would prepare me with the knowledge, skills, and judgement necessary to perform medical aesthetic procedures safely and to recognize when it is not safe to do so.

My husband, Dr. Christopher Dowding, also completed the necessary training to be prepared with the knowledge, skills, and judgement to support our clients in their decision-making process and to oversee me as our clinic’s medical director.

Please see our website’s “About Us” section to learn more about our training. You can also subscribe to our newsletter for updates on our blog that will offer you a glimpse into how we decided to choose the training facility we did. Check it out!
